catch-up & commuter reads

If the MSW writer's room hadn't started back up, I definitely would have written about the two kinds of rice pudding I made on Easter (amarenth/rosewater/pistachio + brownrice/almondmilk/lemonzest). I probably would have also written a post on the buttermilk fried chicken I made two weekends ago (sunday suppers batter + mark bittman frying method). And I'm sure there would be musings on my and Adam's house hunt (first apartment offer in, we'll see...!). But after many, many months of too many hours on pinterest, I am back at work and I have to say - the schedule is welcomed with open arms.

Thankfully, I had close to a first draft of the musical finished before we started back up, and so nighttimes are being used to refine and revise as opposed to having to start at zero. Also, thanks to the head start, I don't need to work on the musical every single night or weekend. I can still bake or watch Last Man on Earth or look at Zillow when I come home sometimes. Good thing, because after months of pintresting, it would have been hard to quit cold turkey.

This blog, however, has been ignored. (Sorry, Chiara!) But I am trying. I made Molly Yeh's Peanut Butter Snack Cakes last night. They are great. Not too sweet (I used a lil less than a whole cup of sugar and skipped the powdered sugar dusting completely). I ate them for dessert, breakfast, and throughout the day at work today. I had two BAM dates in a row with Liana. Once to GHOSTS and the other to WHILE WE'RE YOUNG. We're gonna try and see the MARK MORRIS DANCE GROUP this week.

I read another Michelle Tea book, Valencia, for more musical research. I also read, The Sisters at Chiara's recommendation and it I loved it just like she said I would. I am wondering if I should go into a Mitford coma for awhile and get thoroughly acquainted with Decca, or, if I should just read some more Lessing since Decca reminds me of her. I clearly have a thing for communists.
