I just signed my contract to adapt AMOS & BORIS into a children's musical for South Coast Rep! My friend Daniel Roland Tierney is composing the music and we are beyond thrilled. I got the idea to pursue this project years ago when I was a nanny. I read the same books to Ezra over and over again and most of them I would burn out on after a few times through. But no matter how many times he requested A&B, it never lost it's ability to give me the happy shivers. After years of wondering if I would be able to get the rights, and who would be crazy enough to allow an admittedly dark playwright and a noise musician to tackle a children's musical, Dan and I are now the theatrical rights holders to the property and have been officially commissioned by SCR to adapt it!
